Biblical Teaching
We believe Scripture is God’s Word and the foundation for faith, life, worship, and ministry.
About Brynford
Brynford Bible Church has served Chicago’s Northwest Side for more than 100 years through biblical preaching, Christian fellowship, and Gospel ministry.
Our story
Brynford Bible Church began in 1923 with a simple desire to reach a growing Chicago neighborhood with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
After moving near Bryn Mawr and Pulaski, Ingeborg Isacksen saw a neighborhood filled with children but no nearby church. On January 20, 1924, she opened her home for Sunday School, welcoming fourteen children on a cold, snowy day.
The ministry soon outgrew her home, moved into a storefront, and expanded into children’s ministry, worship, missions, and discipleship. In 1933, Brynford was formally organized as a church.
Across the decades, Brynford became a spiritual home for neighborhood families, missionaries, pastors, and students connected with Moody Bible Institute. Men nurtured here went on to serve in ministries from Chicago to Jerusalem and Ethiopia.
In 2023, Brynford celebrated 100 years of God’s faithfulness. Today, the church continues the same mission that began in a neighborhood home more than a century ago: teaching God’s Word, sharing the Gospel, caring for one another, and reaching our community for Jesus Christ.

Our pastor
Pastor Brian serves Brynford Bible Church with a commitment to biblical preaching, pastoral care, and the spiritual growth of the congregation.
His ministry reflects Brynford’s longstanding conviction that the local church should be centered on the Word of God, devoted to prayer, and marked by genuine Christian fellowship.
Through preaching, teaching, discipleship, and personal ministry, Pastor Brian seeks to help believers grow in their knowledge of Scripture and encourage others to know and follow Jesus Christ.
What shapes our ministry
We believe Scripture is God’s Word and the foundation for faith, life, worship, and ministry.
We seek to proclaim salvation through Jesus Christ locally and around the world.
We gather to worship, pray, learn, encourage one another, and serve together.

A living heritage
Our history is not merely something to preserve. It is a foundation for continued ministry.
We are grateful for those who served before us, and we seek to carry the same biblical convictions forward with humility, clarity, and faithfulness.
